The day after Nha Trang fun times, I was feeling very worse for wear
indeed. I had a very poorly head. It was way bimes. I went to see
Hoppy when I had awoken properly and we made a terrible discovery. The
night before, I had given her my camera and make up bag so that I could
smuggle our buckets from one bar to the next in my bag, but when I asked
Nat for my camera she couldn't find it. I had a little bit of a panic,
because I could defo remember giving her may camera. I searched my bag
and my room and I couldn't find it, so Nat went round all the bars and
asked if anyone had handed it in or if they'd found it. Bimes for me,
she came back without it. I was way gutted, because of all my photos.
I had taken like five hundred photos that I hadn't got backed up yet,
but I was annoyed at myself for losing it. Then, when Nat was having a
last look through her bag, she realised that her purse was gone as
well. We realised then that some one could have stolen them. We spoke
to the girls who were with us on the beach, and they said that some
strange Vietnamese people had come up to them while Nat was in the sea.
I remember them now, but thought nothing of them at the time, but we
reckon that while one of them was talking to us, the other one went in
Nat's bag. Bastards.
I was way gutted. I cried on Huy, and he really didn't know what to
do. I was just so upset about all the photos I'd lost. I had taken like
soooooo many. I am still way gutted about it, but I have realised now
that there is no point being upset about it, because I'm never going
to get them back. Although, I did have a dream last night that I got
my camera back, but it didn't have the memory card in it anyway.
Nat and I spoke to Huy about going to report the things to the police, so
that we could claim on our insurance when we get home, but he said
that there would be no point because they wouldn't give us a report.
We put our foot down and made him take us, but we couldn't go straight
away because at the time the police people were on lunch. Because no
crimes happen over lunchtime, obviously.
I was proper bummed out when we went to see some sights that day. Nat
was annoyed too, but luckily she'd had hardly any money in her purse,
it was only her drivers license she was really worried about. So when
we went to see the sights of Nha Trang that day, I was not really
feeling it.
We went to see the Long Son Pagoda, which was pleasant. To be honest,
I have seen so many pagodas now that they all seem to have merged in
my brain. There were to big Buddahs at this pagoda. One was lying down
and one was sitting up. They were very large. Very large and white. I
wanted to take photos, but couldn't, because some skank had stolen my
camera.
After that we went to see the Cham Tower. It is a really old tower,
like super old. Apparently there used to be loads of towers but now
there is just four. Bimes for the towers. We saw some ladies dancing
with pots on their heads outside the towers. They did not look very
happy about it.
After tower times, we went to the police station. Huy came in with us,
thank goodness, because we never would have got anything sorted
without him. The police station was literally just a room with a desk
in it. The room didn't even have a door on one side. And inside the
desk there was just a load of paperwork all crumpled up and forgotten
about. We had to wait for ages to see a police person, and when she
eventually came out, she just handed us some paper to write down what
had happened. Huy then translated it into Vietnamese, and then she
stamped the piece of paper. Then we just went. It was ever so odd.
We needed cheering up after that, so we went to some mud baths. The
mud baths were also quite odd, as it happens. The mud was really
strange, it was just like brown water. We all expected it to be thick
mud, but it really wasn't. It was still fun times though. We covered
ourselves with it, and poured some on Becky's face. Good times.
After mud bath times, we were advised to go and bake in the sun before
washing all the lovely mud off. We did as we were told, but there
wasn't really much sun. Bimes. We showered off, but that was not fun
times because there were loads of leery Vietnamese blokes. We escaped
to the womens only showers and that was a lot better. Once we had got
all clean from the mud, we had a mineral bath. It was lovely;
especially because Becky and I haven't had a bath in four months. Then
we took a dip in an unnaturally warm swimming pool, but we didn't stay
long because the leery guys had caught up with us. Darn them.
We bought a photo of us in the mud and then went home.
We spent that night on a sleeper train to Danang. I had a right mard
on because I was mourning the loss of my camera. I just read my book
and went to sleep.
